So we got the crappy dual glass packs replaced, with a single 2.5" down the right side. The truck sounds nice, and will only set off alarms in close parking lots .
We went with a Magnaflow muffler. Sam at Pomona Gear did the work. Here are a few before and after pic's.

The 1st and biggest reason is it's a 4 wd, there is precious little room on the left side. The speedo cable has all ready been melted, so far finding a ready made replacement nothing.
The 2nd reason single Y pipe doesn't rotate at manifolds. The poorly made and hung duals did, caused 2 exhaust leaks, and I believe was the major contributor to the old motors burned valves.
If this had been a 2 wd I would have gone duals with a cross over and many well placed hangers :)

My old duals are leaking at the manifolds, just like yours were. Nothing too major just a slight tick. My dad says he cant hear it, but if you drive the truck often like I do, you can hear it.

I cant complain, the duals have been on the truck since 96' or so & they have been modified so many times I lost count.

I just installed my chrome rear bumper & had to saw off the old tail pipes. Im planning on running all new exhaust on it, hopefully with tax money :D

& yes, I will be spending a fortune on good hangers as well. No more solid hangers EVER!

Solid hangers cause cracked headers, cracked pipe, and viberation to cause the exhaust to come loose and leak.

I chose to go with single exhaust too. I have Hedman Hedders, a Magnaflow muffler and 3" pipe. My friend did make the y-pipe oit of 2 1/4" to allow for a little more clearance by the trans pan. It sounds great and the pipe exits the same as the factory did.
