fuel filter???

Post by LANCE65 »

Has anyone EVER seen a filter like this? It has a FORD number on it. Kinda COOL. Think I'll add it to my FORD tool collection.

Yup, my 62 Sunliner had one, I pitched it.
Also Chevy trucks had those in the 70s, maybe later. Theirs mounted on the rh framerail behind the front tire and too the same can and filter as a Ford, but didn't have Ford script obviously.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

This looks kind of like the filter mounted to my mechanical fuel pump, only mine is smaller diameter, I think. If it's worth that much I'll sell mine too.. I have a clear one that I put inline after my tank selector that's doing all the work anyways.. but I think mine is more 'standard equipment' and nothing special, I'll have to take a closer look.

the filter on the bottom of your pump isn't the same as that one. because that one mounts to the frame of a car. the ones on our trucks screw to the bottom of the fuel pump and that is bolted to the enigne.

That's kind of what I thought, and why I figured I'd shut up before I dug myself too deep in the 'dummy' hole.

Thank you for the clarification.

That is the same filter on my 67 F100 with the 352 motor. You unscrew it and the filter is inside. I know because the gasket on mine is starting to leak so time to replace the filter anyway.
