I just sapped my engine out to a 1995 5.0 from a F250. My quandry and question is, the distributor connector is dfferent than the original 1989 connector. The distributor for a 1989 5.0 is different than a 1989 distributor. Therefore I cannot just install a new distributor for a 1989 5.0 to resolve the electrical difference.
My question is, can I modify the wiring to connect to the 1989 harness from the distributor. The 1989 distributor has a modle on the side, but the 1995 distributor doesn't...can I assume the module for the 1995 is built in on the inside?
Can anyone provide a resolution for this problem I have?

Re: 1989 F150 EFI distributor

Welcome to our site.
The '95 module is on the driver fender , inside towards the rear.
It keeps it away from the engine heat.
Now I'm no expert but I'll tell you what I did to mine.
I put an "84 302 in my '93 F150.
I put my "93 distributor and the intake on the '84 engine
I had to adapt the "Knock sensor " to the back of the block , otherwise no problems.
