Please,I need some help here in Brazil. i own an brazilian 1975 F100 and I have just bought an underdash a/c unit for it(Ford dealer) from USA and i just can't make it fit, because the unit hit the firewall bowl.
I believe that maybe there is more room between the firewall and the dash in North Americand trucks.
I am wondering if someone there could give me some advices, i took some pictures (with measures).
I can't tell what is going on in this picture, but if I measure from the firewall to the front of the dash..mine is only about 8-1/2" deep. It doesn't appear to be different than my truck on any other measurements.

This is interesting, thanks for posting pictures! now things are different in Brazil. From what I can tell. your truck is the north american body style we used from 1967-1972. Your truck was built in 1975. Also, from what I can tell from the picture, your truck has a Y-Block engine that has its distributor in the back vs the front of the engine like an FE or SBF. To gain access to the back of the engine the older truck firewalls had this bigger hump. So it looks like the firewall had this bigger hump. with the older engine. Here in north america we didnt use that engine in our 67-72 pickups. So that north america a/c unit may not work with your firewall.

Thank you,
You are right.
My truck is the north american body style 1967-1972 and it has a Y-Block.
This body style stayed until 1992 in Brazil, unbelievable.
I'm considering a reduction on that firewall hump, looks like there's enough space.

It was a dealer add on unit. I just took one of these units out of a 70 f250 from the wrecking yard a couple months ago

Just as a side note, here's a photo of my cab. You can see a big difference in my firewall and his. Especially look at where the tranny hump meets the firewall and how different our covers meet the firewall.

Thanks for replying!
Now it is easy to see. Since i just took my engine off, it is time to cut the firewall.

There is nothing like that here in Brazil, i believe that this will be the only one in Brazil.
