Hey everyone, stumbled onto this site in my searches for information on the Crown Victoria front suspension swap....

I just bought a 1972 F-250 camper special for a project truck, planning to do a CV front suspension swap and a 4.6 with 5spd manual, mustang or expedition rear axle.....

here's my truck!

Nice to see this is such a welcoming community. Does anyone know where I can look on the engine block to verify it's a 390?

Block's the same on all the FE engines. You'll have to check bore and stroke to be positive but if you just check the stroke that'll eliminate the smaller configs.

Thanks, I'll measure stroke with a dowel in a plug hole.

update: sold the engine and trans out of the truck for $600, then bought a complete mustang GT drivetrain (4.6 and t45 manual trans) complete with wiring, ecu, key, pedal box, driveshaft, etc. for $800. Then I found someone parting out a grand marquis that the engine was already out of and offered $125 for the complete front suspension and he let me come pull it myself for $125.









I'm hoping to get the truck back into my shop in the next week or two to start the swap.
