'69 F100 CV 5.4 DOHC Swap HELP?

Post by diznasty »

I have a '69 F100 CV Swap that I am doing in another thread. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 22&t=70762

This past weekend I decided to ditch the 390FE since i came across an '01 Navi engine for a steal. And I am picking up a '01 'stang GT 4r70W tranny this weekend.

Have's:

I have the engine harness and PCM from the 2001 Navi. I also have the tranny harness and pcm for the '01 GT 4.6l.

Plan:

I want to use the 'stang PCM since it is for that tranny and I have read in other mustang forums that you can swap a 5.4 into a 4.6l mustang then with a reflash it should work fine. Plus there is alot of programming support.

Issue/Roadblock:
I have to buy an under dash 'stang harness to plug the PCM into which i know will link to the tranny harness. BUT....will these work with the Navi engine harness? I can't find any straight forward info. Alot of guys that do the 5.4 into a 4.6 mustang swap just use the 'stang harness because it fits with some minor modifications. Those get pricey. I will have as much money into the wiring alone as I do the engine/transmission combined.

Anyone have any advice or knowledge of what to do?

Your going to have to get a complete Mustang engine/dash harness that matches the Mustang PCM and rework/pin as needed using the factory shop manual.

The only other option is a http://www.rjminjectiontech.com/?p=659 harness.... Big $.

You'd need the factory shop manual to check all the pinouts, but it "should" be possible.

I have access to all of the wiring for just about any car out there... if you need anything, just ask.

Thanks, I did some looking around and from what i found(more like told) was that the dash harness and tranny harness are the determining factor. The engine/injector harness is "universal"
