I was looking for a truck to pull an enclosed “TPD” composite 20 ft trailer … and this one fell into my lap…
California “Virgin” F-250 Camper Special …..
![Thumbs up ](./images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif)
and a “google search” brought me to this forum …
Just amazing the info here …
this is a 1970 “one owner” 360 V8, 2 barrel, C6, AC , PS PB,
It was only used to haul a camper around and has sat inside a barn for the past 10-15 years. The motor was rebuilt and supposedly upped to 390 specs.
Paint is “1970 Mavrick Grabber Blue”
….nary a dent or any rust anywhere.
I have all the paperwork from day one and all the manuals and the original California “black & Yelow” License plates.
I changed the old York ac compresseor to new 134a unit, and replaced all the hoses, rebuilt the carb, currently switching the white “Western Wheels to stock factory 8 lugs and installing new tires and stock hubcaps and beauty rims.
My burning question is why are they called
“Bumpsides” pickups?
My other “old truck” is a 1946 Hudson pickup..
I love old trucks …
