Greetings and salutations from Jacksonville Fl. I recently took possession of a 1967 F100 short bed that runs but is in desperate need of some TLC to make it truly road worthy. I'm hardly what can be described as a master mechanic but I am fairly competent with a tool or two and can read, and comprehend, most shop manuals with ease. Unfortunately those manuals rarely reveal the "trade secrets" that seperate the accomplished technician from the average shade tree mechanic. This 67 has definitely been a learning experience for me. Add to that the fact that it came with an engine and transmission made over a decade later, you can see where I get a little confused at times. I still to this day haven't positively identified what type of transmission I have

After spending many an hour perusing the net for parts and information, I noticed this site consistantly popping up in my "Google" searches so I figured I'd sign on as a member and make better use of the source of info.
I'm sure in the days to follow you'll me posting more often. Most likely in the form of the stupid questions commensurate with a rookie mechanic.
