trans swap 2
OK, I've got another question. To change the tailshaft on a c-6 do you have to take apart the whole transmission to get the tailshaft out? Thank's!!

Re: trans swap 2
I was just inside a trans shop looking at books and a c6 on the floor with the shop owner, and there is indeed a c-clip that holds the shaft in there. (so to answer the question, yes.)

Re: trans swap 2
On the long shaft with a slip type yoke there is a clip that goes inside the ring gear for the reverse planetary assy. This clip holds the tailshaft from coming out of the back of the trans.
On the short shaft with the bolt-on yoke, this clip is not used because the extension housing/bearing holds the tailshaft from coming out of the back of the trans. There is not a groove for the C clip on the short tailshaft.
