Where does the cargo light mount on a bump and what does it look like?

1969 Ford F-350 DRW
1989 Chevy S-10 Tahoe ( It gets me to work and back and fetches parts and groceries)
1981 Buick Regal ( My deceased uncles last project/driver....renamed project Regal Eagle to be finished in his honor)
1990 Ford F-150 ( Miss Yvonnes Daily Driver )

A little trivia
The cargo lights were originally back up lights for the '64-'66 T Bird.

I think they used them up to '77-'78 .

One dimension is left out in the photo above.

Since it appears that the light is offset to one side, how far from each of the screws to the edge of the larger opening?

That looks more correct to me Convincor.The shape of the light follows the contour of the cab roof and sides.

if you look at the pad for the cargo light. and at the cab you can see that the pad is thicker on one side than the other. since the top of the cab is outward more. and the bottom of where it sits is more flat then telling from the used pad i have sitting here that hasnt been off of the light itself. the light would sit as in kieths and flyboys picture. but i think it looks right in convincors picture.

that third measurement would be 5/8 on the passenger side to the center of the hole from the edge of the main hole. and 11/16 on the drivers side. thats what mine measures anyway. well i measured from the edge of the dust line on the back of the pad to get those measurements. the correct distance from the edge of the pad would really be determined when yo umoutned the light. just put the light in the main hole and hold it while you mark the center of the hole of with a drill or just run the screw through the metal if you can.

Maybe it can be both. Might have been the assembly line guys practical joke.

the gaskcet only goes on one way. if its put on upside down the gasket wont let the light sit quite right.
