What would be redline??

I was courious what would red line be on the old 302 in my 70? I know it spins 3g doing 40 it seems like alot to me but I know its nothing for the motor. So I was just courious what would you guys say red line would be.

5k for a stock 302. If you upgrade the valve train, better headgaskets, etc... you can get 6500. Some guys run 7k shift points...but they are nuts.

3grand doing 40 mph 1:1 final drive ratio? You've got problems. that is way to high. Too tall gears with too small tires, tranny/clutch slippage or your tach is wrong.

Its got either 3:50 or 55 I can't rember witch. My tires are 235/75/15. Its got a C6 it seems to be shifting through all 3 gears but 3g does seem really high to me. I'll have to check into my tach I might just warrinty it out and get a new one :lol:
