'72 D44 disc swap

Post by 1970Custom »

So I picked up the front axle from a '72 F-100 and it looks identical to every other 44 I've seen other than it's drum.

Can I swap the disk system off of the TTB44 onto this axle? I know the usual swap is '73-'79 but I will soon (if the swap is possible) have a TTB44 laying around...

If your 72 axle is a balljoint version you can use the TTB44 knuckles out on your early housing. The outer axles are the same.

If you have a trunnion housing you can't change knuckles.

4x4 kingpins. There are 4 smaller bolts holding the kingpin cap on... Balljoints will have 1 BIG nut.
