240 or 300?

are there any sure ways to tell the differance in a 240 and 300? any casting #'s that would let you know what you have? actual size differance of any? i know the fe, you can't unless you measure the stroke. thanks

i think you might be able to tell fromt he casting numbers. but i don't know what the numbers are. measuring the stroke is a way to tell i think on those engines. have you checked on ford six to see if they might know?
