Rear-sump FE pan install in 4x2 truck; clearance problem.

That Canton looks similar to the Champ Road Race pans I used to run on my circle track car and in my current road race/autocross car, also have on in my wife's El Camino.....problem with canton is a lot of their stuff has fitament issues when headers get involved. I know 94-96 LT-1 Impalas with long tubes do not like that type of pan, same with fox body mustangs. But the oil control is great. Look and see if champ makes an FE pan.

Also remember the more oil, the cooler the oil temp will be.

The Milodon 30740 oil pan and associated parts finally arrived, and I got them installed! So the problem discussed in this thread has officially been solved! THANKS very much to everybody who offered advice on this!

Here's the Milodon 39740:



And the windage tray that goes along with it. I glued a cork gasket to the side facing the engine block, as directed by Steve at Proformance Unlimited.




Here's the pickup. It's not as glamorous as the pickup used with the huge oil pan my engine came with, but it works!



Here are the gaskets Proformance Unlimited sent me.



The cork gasket glued down to one side of the windage tray:



Here's the glue I used. I happened to have it laying around already.



And the rubber-ish gasket glued to the side of the tray facing the oil pan:



The old, huge oil pan finally broke free from the engine, after much encouragement.



The old pickup sure was nice looking! Too bad that setup didn't work.



The whole inside of the engine had yellow paint on the heads of the bolts. Maybe that's how they keep track of which bolts they've already torqued.



The old pickup was so long that it fastened to what appeared to be one of the main cap bolts.



This engine's about to eat a goat!



Here's a shot of the crankshaft. Thankfully it still looks nice a new despite sitting for a long time.

And the new oil pan completely installed and torqued down! It fits nicely. No clearance issues anymore!
