1970 4x4 Front Diff Question

1970 4x4 Front Diff Question
I was looking at a 1970 F100 4x4 this morning, and I just want to confirm if the front axle is correct or if it was maybe swapped out? D44? The thing that caught my eye was the tie rod end configuration, it looks different than the image in the tech archives.

I'd say it's correct
It has the kingpins , in '72 they went with ball joints.
Up to '79 will bolt in , bur you'll need the tie rods and radius bar for the later ones with disc brakes.

Thanks. This one has a removable tie rod end on the driver's side which I thought might be incorrect.

It might be , It's been awhile since I've seen an unmolested original.
I think chevy had a replacement end on both sides , maybe someone modified that one.
I think the long end was quite expensive. A lot can happen in 50 plus years.
That's a Dana 44 and a lot of other makes used them too. Only Ford had that coil spring setup though.
