It's been a long absence for me (almost 10 years!), and I'm back... and happy to see this place is still thriving!
Ten years ago, I changed jobs and spent 75% of my life living out of a suitcase. When I did get home the other 25% of the time, my wife and family needed me with them and not out in the garage. So the Eagle (my 69 F100 in Lunar Green) sat languishing for a couple of years, and it broke my heart, but I sold it. The gentleman got it back on the road, which is where a truck belongs, so it really was a bittersweet feeling.
Fast forward 10 years, and I moved to a job that keeps me at home. And the itch was back

Last month we found a 69 F100 in rough shape but with some decent potential, and in the price range we were willing to pay (my how these trucks have appreciated in the last 10 years!). He told us it would run and drive, but when we got there it wouldn't demonstrate the three things we needed to see - run, drive, and stop. I guess the old truck was bashful and suffering from stage fright. The seller was most embarrassed, but we could see the potential. I offered to take it off his hands for a modest discount from the selling price, and he said he'd prefer to fix the problems and sell at the original price. Fair enough! We made an elbow-rub agreement with the fellow (no handshakes right now

A month later and he delivered our newest family member. He's a 1969 F100 with a 360, 3-on-the-floor, and was originally sold right here in the Atlanta area.

There's a ton of potential... and plenty of work to be done. So I'll be darkening the doorway of Fordification again on a regular basis. I hope I can give help and receive it, but I'm still a rank amateur, so I imagine the balance lean on the receive end

Thank y'all for being so welcoming, and for keeping the home fires burning.
Take care,
Chris
