Back is better, weather is cooler so now work on the cab can move forward. Friday I am meeting a guy that wants the C6 trans I listed on CL. I will use the engine crane to put it in the truck and let him pull it out.

Been discussing Electric Steering mods on the FTE forum. This is a very interesting chat. I did a search on google and there are a lot of posts. It appears that the Prius unit is the most adaptable unit and it offers power steering in our trucks. Anyone else looking on done this?

So worked in the garage Sunday and Monday. Pulled more parts and threw away more junk. I am getting closer to servicing the Trans, Transfer Case and two Center Driveshafts. I found that I have two so might as well redo the joints in both and paint them. When I di the Trans and T-Case I am going to paint them Red Oxide.

Did more work on Friday and Saturday, found some parts I have been looking for and threw away more junk. I have a significant increase in my work space now. It gets a little crazy with all the crap I have accumulated over the years for this truck rebuild.

So it's been a crazy couple of weeks. The wife was rear ended on her way home from work. She is ok, but her 2016 Escape was heavily damaged. So we went out and looked at several cars so she had a back up plan. On Friday the insurance company told her the car was totaled. So we went and got a test drive in a 2020 Escape and she liked it and bought it. Crazy couple of weeks that I hope well be better this week for her.

I am happy she is ok and likes the new car. It has a lot of gadgets that her other one didn't, so there is a learning curve.

SLOW, is how it's coming :( . I am trying to get too much done at once I think. Friday I rotated the tires and changed out the front pads on my 2016 F150. I then worked on finding some wiring for installing another light in the garage. 25 minutes later still could not find it but found some other wire. Got the light installed and its it's great. Moved a box and found the wire I was looking for :cuss: . Well stop the body work and it is time to purge the garage! Pictures to come.

Spent three days in the garage this week. I was able to find my clutch pivot plate that mounts to the engine, good thing they are like hens teeth apparently! Still try to organize and down size the pile. Have been gathering all the parts I have for the old 44hd closed knuckle axle. Found I have two drums and brake hubs and one outer hub. I also have a complete axle to get rid of. I hate to through this stuff away.

Now I have started gathering the pieces I am still missing for reassembly. I ordered a set of brake rotors for the new axle from Amazon for under $50 for the pair. Other than that just trying to make a little progress when I can.

Hope everyone has a happy and safe New Year.

Sorry to hear about the wifes car but glad she's doing well and she got a new ride.
As far as the electric power steering mod goes I've seen a lot of people using the Volvo electric pump on our trucks and it seems to work fairly well.
