Finally started working on my cab. The mounts and floor boards are rusted as well the structure supports on both sides. I haven't done much in panel replacement before....it looks so much easier when these guys are doing it on TV!
I got the driver side cut out and the new floor board tacked in place for now.
I have replacement cab mounts from LMC; I've seen posts before about how poor of a fit they are and after laying them out today, I have to completely agree. I am going to continue working with these; but may ultimately end up buying a set from Dennis Carpenter or NPD.
Anyways...here are some photos:
1970 F100 "Marvin 2" - Crown Vic IFS, 302, C4 (work in progress)
1970 F250 "Leonard" - 302, C6 (project in waiting)
1971 F100 "Walt" - 302, 3-speed on the column (Sunday driver)
2004 Mustang GT "Horse With No Name" - 4.6L, 5 speed (Retired daily driver / Friday driver)
Spent some time welding today. I have the driver's side floor pan fully welded in now and the cab mount mocked in place. These LMC cab mounts don't fit worth a crap. I really wish that I would have spent a few dollars more and bought them through Dennis Carpenter instead...oh well, I will make these work as best as I can.

I wouldn't use that style cab mount. I would go for the ones sold by Dennis Carpenter (http://dennis-carpenter.com/trk67-79cab ... ng/c/1223/). Others have tried to use those one piece stamped units without any luck.

I actually went ahead and ordered the Dennis Carpenter mounts. I unpacked them earlier this morning; its unbelievable how much better the DC mounts are. The metal is a much thicker gauge and they fit the pans almost perfectly.
The LMC mounts are straight garbage.

6 months later, I finally tackled the passenger side pan. All in all, went fairly smoothly; start to finish took about 8 hours.
I've got the cab mounts and cab support pieces to weld in, then it's time to seam seal and paint. My goal is to have that done and the cab final bolted in place by my birthday (6/20). I recently read an article in Hot Rod Magazine that was talking about setting schedule / milestone dates to keep your project on track; it's help infuse new energy to get this thing completed....hopefully.

So if my drivers side floor pan needs replaced yet my cab mount is ok then I have to cut the cab mount spot welds off of the floor pan and leave it in place as I replace the floor pan?

Yeah, you'll have to do something to that effect. Depending on where the pan replacement is / how much you are replacing, you may be best to weld from the interior side of the cab instead of the underside. Just a heads up, there are a lot of spot welds in the cab mount....just when you think you have all of them accounted for, there are a few more.

Little more progress done this evening...got the two cab support braces welded in. These came with the cab when I bought it off Craigslist; unsure of the brand / make, but I would be willing to bet they are Dennis Carpenter (they seem very similar to the DC cab mounts I have).

I don't see any reason why you couldn't. If you want to salvage and reuse them, I would find a way to remove as little of your floor pans as possible. I ended up bending the edges of my old mounts as I removed them because I had such a hard time drilling out the old spot welds.

Cab mounts welded in and underside painted with Rust Bullet. It made for a long night, but I am extremely happy with it. My brother is coming over this weekend to lend a hand, we'll tilt the cab back down on the frame and bolt it in.
I still have a couple of rust areas to address, primarily the door sills on each side, but I am waiting to do that with the cab laid back down.
