Why the northwest?

I've noticed over the short period of time I've frequent this forum, how most of the fair deals are in the great northwest. Is this true or is it just me?

Most of what I've seen over the past year or so within the state of Missouri is not all that great for the asking prices.

It just seems so frustrating when you think you find a pretty good deal to then drive 125 miles one way just to see a pile of scrap. Man, I sure wish I kept my high school ride. I will forever kick myself I'm sure for selling it.

Maybe cause our gas prices are higher and they just want to get rid of the thing to buy a better gas car. :hmm:

I've been saying this for a long time. I drove from east Texas to Yakima to buy my crewcab. And the 68 I had before that I got for in Seattle.
And that guy, insolentdependant, parts out better trucks than any of us own, sells on ebay.

The trucks don't rust very bad here,(western Washington) because they don't salt the roads in the winter. Lots of older trucks have survived.

I think that's the key....there are simply a higher concentration of survivors up there than down here in the midwest, where the states salt the crap out of the roads in the winter. The law of supply and demand states that where there are fewer trucks, the perceived value is higher.

Yeah, when it freezes here in Oregon, they use lava rock. I suppose it helps that we have a ready supply in the Cascades.

IMHO, it is just the simple fact that this is "Ford Truck Country" (well at least that is what the local dealers keep saying on their commercials) But seriously I swear right now alone, I could take a 30 minute drive, and see at least 8 of our trucks, and out of those 8, I bet at least 2 would be for sale. They really are everywhere up here.

i still see a few around here driving around. there is a farm and ranch special a nice restored purple one that someone at the bank drives and a old man has ons across town. then i saw one yesterday that was multicolored.

I just got back from a semi-frequent trip from Portland,OR, thru central WA, over to Spokane,WA, into northern ID, and then down the backside thru SE WA back to Portland,OR. I counted at least 20 trucks for sale including a couple hiboys. there were a LOT more sitting around than I could count at 60 MPH (no comments there Heep! :lol: )
and not a one that I could stop and look at! *sigh*

I even know where 2 crew cabs are sitting for sale, one right here in my town!

I wish. :lol: I gotta get some solid transpo and get rid of the `74 before I can think about more trucks. Wish spring was here so the Kawi could come out of hybernation. :cry:

I've got an old 68 Cougar I'm restoring too. I see the same thing with them. It seems like the majority of the cars and parts that come up for sale are up in the pacific northwest.
