welcome to the site pat. where is reverse in the shift pattern? or, if it is an auto, how many bolts in the transmission pan. that should lead us in the right direction of finding out what trans you have.

I looked up the casting numbers of the engine and tranny and according to them I have a 302 w/ 4 spd OD out of either a 79 or 80 Bronco. ( #'s on engine say 79, #'s on tranny say 80, adding to the confusion) Reverse is push down, to the left and up. From the research I've done I think it's a T170FS RUG but without seeing a clear picture of an identical one, I can't be sure. There are no exposed shift linkages. The shifter goes into a bolted on housing on the tail section. So far Ive seen a myriad of pics that are similar but yet to see one that looks exactly like mine.
