Hello, my name is Steve. I have a '67 F-100 that I purchased from the original owner in 1990. I drove it for a few years then parked it in the garage. It currently has about 85,000 miles on it. My son, who is now 16, decided we needed to start working on it again. I parked it because I rebuilt the original 352 engine but the machine shop, that did the machine work, messed up on the crank journals because it has no oil pressure when it warms up. I purchased another crank to put in the engine and it will be installed when we convert it to an automatic. I am going through the C6 now. I was fortunate to locate an aluminum intake off a 1967 police interceptor engine and it is now on the engine along with a Mallory dual point distributor, Ford Motorsport hydraulic cam, and Holley 650 carb.
I also aquired a set of slot mag wheels from a salvage yard for $30. I took them to a media blaster and after cleaning them up, I noticed the words "Holman-Moody" stamped in the two rear 15X10 wheels. Knowing some of the history of Holman-Moody, I found their website and asked them about the wheels. Lee Holman replied to me. These wheels were built in 1969 with the intention of getting them approved by NASCAR. They were not approved so they were sold to the general public until the supply ran out. The two front wheels look identical but they are 15X8's, all of the Holman-Moody wheels were 15X10's. I have always liked the looks of the slot mags on the old trucks, kinda got a bonus. I recently purchased a '77 F-150 for parts so we can convert to front disc brakes, power brakes, and power steering. The pickup also has a Sears under dash air conditioner unit that was put in it when the truck was about a year old and it still works. The truck is red and was never kept inside until I bought it. Paint is gone and so is the interior. We have plenty of work to do but it is an Oklahoma truck so there is very little rust to deal with.
