Yet Another Noob Log-in

Post by Racer Z »

Hi -

I'm new to Fordification. I'm not new to Ford trucks though. Over the years I've owned a variety of cars, trucks, motorcycles, sailboats, bicycles and hmm,... even a pogo-stick and a unicycle. (never did learn to ride that last one though)

The list of trucks includes a 1950 Chevy; 1959 Ford; and currently a 1969 and 1970 F250. I've owned the 69 for eight years or so and the 70 for about a year. The 69 is the parts donor to fix the 70.

My basic plan is to loosely restore the 70, not to showroom, nor to stock, but to make it last another forty years and keep it as my daily driver until then. It is both my work truck and our tow / pit vehicle. Between the two trucks I have three auxiliary fuel tanks and the camper special springs. The 70 came with a custom rear bumper that is a class 3 or better receiver hitch and a tank for compressed air. The 70 has had the front disk brake upgrade done (not my work) and I installed a new long-block (390) recently.

Just doin' my part in keepin' old Fords alive.
Currently I'm working on the cab interior. The wiring harness has been hacked so I'm replacing it along with certain switches and the like.

Eventually will come springs and fuel tanks. I have a compressor waiting to be installed along with a train horn. I put a lumber rack on mostly for the purpose of building an observation platform at the track, but I've already found it to be handy as I work as a handyman. Somewhere in there will be weather seals and bushings, both suspension and body.

Velsign oss som sitter her

IMO the 69 has the best looking grille out of all the bumps.

By the time I'm done the 70 is going to be more of a 69 camper special than a 70 base model.

Thanks for the warm greetings guys.

:wel: from Phelan, SoCal. I've got a '70 myself & agree that the '67, '68 & '69 grills are the best lookin'. Great luck with your project. It's nice to see another Bump used for "Work".
