Re: 69 F250 body on 87 bronco frame
Also.. I did get an F600 cluster.. I plan on putting autometer gauges in it..
List of things still needing to be done
Mount the electric fan to the radiator
Get a fan controller and wire it in
Mount the gas pedal and run the throttle cable
Run the Speedo cable
Mount the head light switch
wire up the windshield wipers
attach muffler to exhaust pipe and hang it.
Fab mount for the racing seats
Install belts/harnesses
Plug the open vacuum ports.
Put 75w 3ohm resistors in the TAB/TAD sensors
Mount the ECU somewhere
Mount the MAP sensor
Fab/mount the Air cleaner
Mount a Trans temp sensor somewhere if I go in the pan I need to do it before pan installation.
Zip tie the bronco dash cluster in place until I can buy aftermarket gauges.
replace the windshield
registration and insurance

Quick shot showing the little remote trans cooler..
Just the inside. (I need to mount the gas pedal) =(
Tabs on the side of the 96 radiator
No more tabs
The brackets for the body mount bushings were in our way so.....Bye Bye
Nice and bolted up
Radiator in place
We used the original placement for the horn. Just bolted right in. NICE!!!

Here's some pics
http://www.supermotors.net/registry/22092/75265
Couple shots.
Swapping out tires.. We thought we were going to drop the tranny so we wanted to get it as low as possible.
Marc on the creeper and me on my back
another shot
Ian and Jose swapping out some hubs on Jose's rig
Marc was able to fish out the old oil pan gasket piece
Ian removing the trans pan
Me taking off the pan bolts.

Re: 69 F250 body on 87 bronco frame
Wish I had better pics.. But I was working non stop and wasted 1/2 the day getting parts and what not..
I have a trail clean up this saturday so I won't be able to work on it on Sat.. Not sure what Sunday is going to be, and next saturday I have a hockey tournament.
By the time I get home it's almost dark so time to work on it is slim and none right now. =( But don't fret. I'm not giving up and this won't be a project that just dissapears with no end like a lot of the other ones I've seen on the internet.. Though I've wanted to give up plenty of times along the way.. ..

Re: 69 F250 body on 87 bronco frame
It does make a huge difference.. I lose motivation when I'm the only one out there..
I was going to be doing an Adopt A Trail cleanup this saturday but that isn't happening due to the rain that's coming. Depending how bad it is, I may pull out the easy up and change the trans pan gasket.
I still need to mount the stupid gas pedal.. I keep putting it off. =(

Re: 69 F250 body on 87 bronco frame
Sorry for the long gap in posting..
After we did the oil pan gasket and installed the deep sump trans pan, it leaked trans fluid... Appears the cork gasket was shotty.. Well that irritated me something fierce.. Everytime I take 1 step forward on this thing I have to take 1 step back on something else..
So the truck sat with nothing done.. Until today. I finally swapped out the cork gasket with a Felpro rubber gasket. That and I re-attached the driveshaft.. Tomorrow I'll see if it still leaks or not.. I hope not.. So tired of issues.. =(
Anyhow.. Just wanted to let people know this project hasn't just vanished... Though sometimes I wish it would. .

There are times you have to ask yourself a question which requires deep thought.....

Re: 69 F250 body on 87 bronco frame
I by far am more stubborn. easy way to prove it.. As the truck sits right now I'm into it for about $10,000 and it doesn't even run or drive..
That's for everything from buying it 6 years ago when it was a bronco.. All the money I put into it from then until now.. 10k and it's still a project and only on 1/2 ton running gear.. =( I could have a sick duece on 54's for less then that. =(

Re: 69 F250 body on 87 bronco frame
Well I fired it up last wednesday. Let it idle itself around the neighborhood (I still don't have a gas pedal hooked up) So far no leaks from the trans or oil pans. Wooohoooo!
I talked to a buddy and it looks like I'm going to put it on a trailer and take it to his shop. Will get more work done on it there cause I'll have help and more motivation then I do here at home.
