I agree with you Wes. Threads like this where the OP asks a few questions days apart make me wonder why they haven't taken 2 minutes to jack the front end up and wiggle the wheel around to figure out what the problem is. Takes longer to type out the question than it does to do the work.Wes wrote:I'm still not convinced that the king pin bearings are to blame for the positive camber. My Highboy can w/ bad king pins on the right side, we had negative camber. I look at the pictures and see an uneven gap between the drum and the backing plate.
Thou jacking the wheel up and checking the king play is the easiest, and 1st thing I would do.

Re: 69 F250 4x4 Front axle question.
I jacked it up today and the wheel would wiggle around but I took it to my friends who know 4x4's and they took the lockout out and tightened a nut inside the hub and it dosen't wiggle anymore but the camber issue still remains. I think I'll order the kingpin bearings and he said he could replace them for me. 4x4's are a little out of my knowledgeaveragef250 wrote:I agree with you Wes. If after tightening the spindle nut the wheel doesn't wiggle then it is not the king pin bearings. The bearings being shot would still allow the wheel to wiggle when pushed at too and bottom of the wheel. Find out for sure what it is before you just throw parts at it. I was able to find out my issue with allot of help from folks on here don't be afraid to ask a question to help you figure out where to look next.

I'd almost bet money the spindle is bent. The wheel bearing should be inspected if they have been running loose. glad your making progress

They were new so I just tightened it up. I was thinking about it today if the spindal or axle was bent wouldn't it go down the road werid or the 4x4 not work right?Wes wrote:I'd almost bet money the spindle is bent. Re: 69 F250 4x4 Front axle question.
no, the spindle doesn't spin so it would have no affect as far as driving down the road besides your obvious camber issue would affect driving.
If i were you i would start tearing it apart down to the spindle.
