Factory Ford 4x4's
I have several 67-72 Ford trucks and know a little bit about them. I saw a truck the other day and was wondering if anyone on this forum might know a little about the 73-79's. I asked on Ford Truck Enthusiast and no one knew the answer. Does anyone know if Ford made a factory F350, Longbed, Crewcab 4x4 in 1979? If I saw one, is it possible that someone did a conversion or body swap, or could it be factory? Thanks....

it is possible they did make some of them. wheather they did or not. and wheather they were made for the public is a different story. it could have also been a special order too. you might try looking on this site http://www.73-79.com its not a very active site but they may have some info for you.

from what I know, I would say no, not until 1980 (if you see one check the frame it could be either lengthend or a 2wd frame used) . But as fordman said maybe special order?? Also check the below site

No crew cabs, but they did have a rare super cab. But as stated: a crew cab could have possibly been a custom order.

Re: Factory Ford 4x4's
There is a supercab LB 350 4x4 that runs around my town... Old man owns it, thinks it's worth nothing, but also irreplaceable. Won't part with it........ Decent truck but not perfect..pretty plain. Factory black steelies.. Wouldn't take alot of work to be a real nice truck though.
As far as crews- never seen one in LB 4x4..Short box yep...but not long... I did see a long box 4x4 CC in the Oregon Dunes but it was a custom built job with a cummins.

No, a CrewCab F350 4x4 was not available. In '79 (the only year an F350 4x4 was available), the F350 4x4 was available in a regular cab (133" W.B.) or SuperCab (155" W.B.) only. The regular cab version was available with either a styleside or flareside box, but only a styleside box was available on the SuperCab.
A buddy of mine who's sold me many Ford truck parts has a '79 F350 4x4 Ranger Lariat SuperCab. It's a project truck that he intends to rebuild one of these days. (You know how that goes!) I've got a few pictures here:

Re: Factory Ford 4x4's
Hi! I own a 1979 F350 4x4 Supercab . I want to know more about it as in how rare is it? How many did Ford make?
She's a beast! I love her but deffinaltey needs some work on the interior and new paint and a tailgate. Other than that she runs like a dream. Where's the best place to buy parts?
