Hi guys!
Been a whilesince I logged in. Im still restoring my truck and I am trying to decide on tires, hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction and reccomend a good all round tire. I was told a 245/75R/16 would be the biggest I could go for clearance issues. What is everyone else running on their stock F250 1968's? Is there one brand that seems to handle better? I would be using the truck in the summer only and only carrying small loads (under 1000 lbs)
thanks and look forward to your thoughts!

Might want to put this in drivetrain or general discussion. Then you'll probably get an answer, I don't have a clue what tires you could use though. I haven't gotten to that point yet. Remember though, you have a very heavy truck so you want tires that can handle that in addition to what your hauling.
*EDIT* I just got to this post through forum announcements, I didn't know it was posted here too.
I run 255/85R/16s on my F250 and they clear. I used to have 8.50, 16s on it at first from my 69 F350 and they cleared. I have on the front now 235/70R/16s with no problems.

Mine's a Dent with disk brakes but I actually ground down the "non-adjustable" stops
to allow my 235/85-16E's to get closer to the radius arm. :) They are the radius-ply
version of the old 7.50-16 10-ply tires that came on many of these pickups new and
for handling... they are the best, IMO.
I just -like- their stiff, sure handling -and- ride.
YMMV on that? :)

31.5" diameter 265/75-16E's are what I'm going to put on my '91 Bronco someday.
Already bought the 16x8" wheels before they quit making those too. Couldn't get the
alloy wheels in "5 on 5.5" + 16x7" or might have gone with 235/85-16E's.
If you don't mind a noisy tire, then Cooper makes a 255/85-16 that's 33" tall.
Wanted that size but my Bronco's going to be a "road queen :/" and want it to be quiet.
