390,c6+np435

Post by ak-1970-360 »

Hey Guys, I am slowly in the process of turning my 70F100 into a 4x4 off road toy. I have a rebuilt 390 ready for it and also the rebuilt c6 that was behind it, both run and shift perfectly. I am thinking of running the c6 and then mounting my NP435 that is currently in the truck behind the c6. Has anyone ever done or heard of this, Im not real sure how it would work or why i would need that much gear but I think it would be really cool. Anyways just an idea and I plan on putting a Holmes 6000 pto driven wrecker boom in the bed, mine will be our recovery rig, my buddies 72 4x4 will have a Lincoln pipliner welder and a box of tools/parts mounted on the bed and another buddy has a Nissan Pathfinder that will carry all the camping gear and such to keep it dry. We should have some fun up here in Alaskas backcountry with these rigs! :D

Iwas talking to a couple of guys down in Florida and they told me kind of how to hook a c6 to a 4 speed but I don't remember how they said to do it. They were going to do this kind of set up in a mid 70's dent side ford short bed 2wd swamp buggy.
If you go to chuckstruck.net and go in the forum page, and post some thing up in the tech page about what you are looking to do I am sure you will get some info and pics of poeples set ups. Its' worth a shot.
