Is there a difference between 2X4 and 4X4 frame widths? I've got a 71 F250 4X4 and I've got the opportunity to get a 70 2X4 for $300. Looking at the other truck for the bed and possibly the cab. Of course straight fenders and doors are always usefull as well. Don't know if there is a difference between frame widths on the trucks. It wouldn't be that big of a deal on the bed, but might be an issue on the cab. I'm sure it wouldn't be anything that couldn't be worked through, but easier is always better IMO.
Just trying to think through all the possibilities/problems before I drive 150 miles one way to look at the truck.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Re: Frame width question
No difference in the frame width as I recall. The one thing is the rear cab mounts are different. On the 2wd they are on the inside of the frame rails and the 4wd they are on the outside. It isn't a big deal you just have to drill them out if you use the 2wd cab on your 4wd frame. I put a 2wd body on my highboy. Alot of work but well worth it. Good luck.

Re: Frame width question
but the frames back cab moints are only different from 2 wheel to 4 wheel on the f250s, the f100s have them in the same spot
I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.
