re: Radio
If you guys want to use one of those '79 AM/FM stereo radios, and don't want to have to install "extra" speakers, then might I suggest you find one of those "dual-cone" single stereo speakers and replace your factory dash speaker with it. That way you don't have to alter your original door panels, kick panels, or headliner. I have a 66 Custom Cab w/ radio delete, and a padded dash with no speaker hole, and I didn't want to hack that up, so for long trips, I made a center console for the tranny hump, that contains the radio, speakers and cup holders. It just plugs into a wire for power, and I can remove the whole thing for car shows. Just a suggestion... Greg

re: Radio
I found a stock am/fm stereo sitting in a 72 in the junkyard. I remembered this thread when I saw it, and thought about picking it up. I have no idea if it works, but its all there except for knobs and cover plate. I may go back and get it if one of you still need or want a stock am/fm radio.

Re: re: Radio
Well, when you're down San Antonio way, tune to 680 AM KKYX. They've got the Classic Country and the farm report!willowbilly3 wrote: 50 year old country is really the only country I can stand to listen to. I do like Alan Jackson, Dwight Yoakum, and a few of the contemporarys but find it just too painful to listen to a top 40 country station. A real country station will have the farm market report at noon. ( and probably Paul Harvey too)

re: Radio
Went to the junkyard yesterday to pull it and found out it wasn't a stock philco am/fm radio, although the it looks alot alike and the radio bezel fits it and the knobs also fit it. Boy do I feel stupid. Anyways BigRedTruck has first dibs on it. It would look original to anyone who is not fordified, but a people on here would know its not stock.

re: Radio
This has come up in another thread, so I thought I would move this over here. http://www.turnswitch.com/ I looked at this site and for the money and for keeping the original radio, this has to be the way to go.
