Hi there, this site has increased my enthusiasm for Ford trucks over the last year, so I started to search for a nice truck on this site and on Ebay, found a nice 1969 F100 on auction in Idaho and won the auction.

Had it shipped over to Europe last November, and it is now in my garage waiting for dutch registration approval.
I have some pictures posted in the photo gallery, and hope to be able to post a link here.
This is a 360 auto, it has camper special emblems and a camper shell. However I learnt on this forum that a 1969 F100 can not be a factory delivered camper special.
Have there been any exceptions to that rule or did someone just stick some camper special labels on it ? There is an extra fuel tank but is mounted in the bed behind the cabin.
Another thing that puzzles me are the vertical pieces of pipe which are welded to the ends of the rear bumper, does anyone know what could have been the function of the pipes ?
Are they an option from Ford or home made ?

Pretty cool! I guess there aren't to many in Europe? How long did you have to wait? I sold a truck to a friend at work and he sent it to his fathers farm in Guatamala. It took 3 weeks from door to door and cost him $900! He only paid me $200 for the truck.

Those pieces of pipe on the rear bumper would have been added by a previous owner. I'll bet he had some flags or stakes to put into those when he's backing up to a trailer using his rear-view mirrors, so he knows where the end of the truck is.

Looks like the truck has a recent paint job and the whole truck is very clean and straight. From the bumper, fuel tank, camper type, air cleaner, and the camper special emblen I guess the the former owner liked the outdoors. He probably had a boat hence the markers. I have seen campers like that mainly used by contractors. Generally, contractors are so hard on trucks that they are worn out when traded. The air cleaner is a oil bath heavy duty generally ordered for off pavement use, like a contractor or someone who does a lot of outdoor camping, e.g. fishing. Enjoy your truck. How do you plan to use the truck?

I bid on the truck without seeing it , just had to go by the pictures. So I was prepared for a lot of misery, but I am very happy with the condition that it seems to be in. What I discovered so far (but have not been driving it yet) is a considerable leak of power steering fluid and a sound from one the cyl. heads that I need to investigate more.
It took about 5 weeks for the transport from Idaho to the Netherlands, and the transport costs a small fortune.
Not too many of these trucks in Europe, and definitely none at all on salvage yards.
Thanks for the info on the air cleaner, I did not realize that it is not a stock air cleaner. I have no idea what the truck was used for by the previous owner, but it does look pretty clean. I do not like the wheels much but the seller was kind enough to send 4 original rims with the truck, which I only have to find tires for. Can someone tell me what the original tire sizes are for the F100 ?
I am not going to use it for towing or camping, just want to have fun driving it and visit meetings and such. My 61 Ford (pics in my signature) is a real project car, and I wanted another ‘oldtimer’ to drive for fun, for daily use I have a company car.
Before I can drive it I have to prepare it for dutch registration, meaning that I need to replace the sealed beam units for halogen units, change the parking lights and remove the extra fuel tank. After registration I will convert it to LPG, to keep it affordable with the European fuel prices.
