Distrubutor to coil wire - gauge / type

I need to replace the wire from my distributor to the coil. I'm looking for info on what gauge and type of wire to use.
72 F100 / 240
The wire has been replaced once, and appears to be bigger and stiffer than stock. The terminal broke off the wire where it attaches to the points, I suspect it was too stiff for the application, not moving well with the advance.
If it makes any difference, I'm running an MSD6 with a Super coil.
