I dyno'd two FEs last week, one I built for a Mustang restored racer, but the other, destined for a Galaxie would be a nice truck engine, both pump gas
The Mustang was 457 inches, iron head, hyd roller 241/241 @ .050, .630 lift, dual quad tunnel wedge, 545 HP/545 TQ, HP peak was at 6000, shift point 6400. Our goal was 530 @ 6000. This is a very rowdy engine and unless it was in a little F100 shorty with a steep gear, likely not a truck engine
The second, a different story, 14 inches of vacuum at idle, 461 inches, RPM intake, Trick Flow heads, 233 @ .050 intake, 241 @ .050 exhaust, .598 lift, 113 LSA. This mellow monster made 558 HP at 5500-5750 and 594 ft lbs at 4000 rpm. It was a sweetie and would be a mellow monster in any 2WD or 4WD F series.
Hope you enjoy, neither were inexpensive, but the owners should have a BLAST!

That 461 is awesome. Cool to see real world results with those Trick Flow heads. They seem to be positioned well in the FE aluminum head market. Did you do any port work on the heads and/or intakes?

No work to the heads except make sure installed heights and pressures were accurate, set them to 155 closed, 400 open for the hyd rollersparky72 wrote:That 461 is awesome. The intake I squared the ports at gasket entry and matched them to each other, blending in as far as I could, but didn't match them, I didn't think it needed it and like a little step to battle reversion a bit. I also shaped the plenum roof slightly and cut a small equalizing notch in the divider.
The car it's going in didn't have room for a spacer and a good air cleaner, so we ran with only a 1/4 inch spacer, these usually pick up 20 HP with the right spacer
I did another one with TFS heads last year, similar, but with a ported 428 PI intake, it made 568 HP at 5750 and a smidge less torque. They are very good heads
