DENNIS CARPENTER BRONCO TUB ISSUES

Post by insanexxwelder »

I'm building a 67 bronco for a customer.
We purchased a body from Dennis Carpenter the first body had so many issues with fitment of body panels. the gap between the bedsides was an inch too narrow for the tailgate to even fit the doors would not line up correctly regardless of what was done Defenders hood and nose would not fit at all. At this point we return the body for a second one and so far have had to drill the spot welds out on the tail light housing and move them out a quarter of an inch, had to cut the seem between the tail light housing and quarter panel because it was welded solid, had to cut 3/16 out of the bottom of a factory bulkhead to make it line up with the bedsides, we have had to add metal to the door edges to fill in the quarter inch door gap. Now we have the major issue of the quarter panels being bowed out over an inch at the beginning of the wheel arch. Has anyone else had any issues with Dennis Carpenter Bronco tubs

DC's name has always been the "gold" standard in reproductions. Sadly their product haven't been for a long time. Give me a dusty NOS part any day.

:hmm:

Might be better off asking on a Classic/Early Bronco site.
