Fuel Filter question FE390

Post by dirtydrc »

First time changing the fuel filter in the 390, actually first time for any Ford. Question: When I unscrew the canister, what stops the fuel from draining out of the fuel lines (and the entire fuel tank)? Do I need to pinch the lines off or something?

I would pinch them off as close to the fuel filter as is practical to avoid making a mess as well as wasting gas. If you have a manual valve for dual tanks you can also turn it off.

Pinching off a 50 year old fuel line has been known to create more problems than a little spilled fuel
