67-72 Die Cast or Models

Post by 69F110 »

Does anyone out there know where to get Die Cast or Plastic Models of our trucks? I can't find a 67-72 F100/F250 in Germany, so I figured I could at least live vicariously through a model or something. Also, any size will work, 1/64th hot wheels size, 1/43rd, 1/24th, 1/18th, whatever.

I cannot find one anywhere online. I see alot of pre 67 Ford's and alot of 67-72 Chebbies, but no Ford's.

If you know some place, let me know.

Thanks

I have seen a couple on ebay. Kind of a poor rendering with a little camper on the back.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Hot Wheels makes some 79's, but I haven't found one for our years.http://www.mastermodeler.com/f150/modelkits.html.
This guy has pics of some, but I still couldn't find them for sale anywhere.

Maybe we should hook up with one of the bigger producers and see if they would be willing to make them? I look for them all the time.

I actually put in a request somewhere one time. One of them had a request page you could submit, but haven't heard anything yet. Noticed that DUB City just came out with some 72 chebby's. 1/64th and 1/25th scale.

I found one on E bay . it's a Matchbox- Lindsey (about 3" long) dated 1968 on the bottom but the grill is a 67. They turn up every once in a while on e bay. I packed it away somewhere in a box becaus of last years fire evacuation. If i can find the dang thing I'll post a pucture.

I'm in the beginning stages of making my own 67-72 model. I'll let you all know what I come up with. I'm planning on 1/24th scale as the minimum that I would do. If it works out right, I think it could be pretty neat. Not planning on mass market or anything..especially with all the copyright laws and such. But I can make one up...see how it goes.

I might even be able to make a mold for casting mass production...don't do not envision that as part of my plan.

Let me know what ya'll think.

There are small Matchbox-style trucks which are supposed to be dog-pound trucks. I've seen them on E-bay occasionally, but normally they're pretty beat-up. However, two hours ago I DID just win an auction for one in great shape, although the dog cages that are supposed to be in the bed are missing. This one will run me about $10 with shipping:

There's another one available in THIS AUCTION, if anyone is interested. Or you can get this '70 Ford truck ambulance (for a $15.00 B.I.N. price) at THIS AUCTION.

These are all I could find in Ebay prices from .99 to 40.00.

Also I contacted a toy company (Fairfield Mint) and told them that there are currently no manufactures producing a 67-72 model. Haven't heard anything yet but maybe everybody should go to their website and contact them and tell them you would like to see a 67-72 model produced. There website is www.faifieldmint.com, all you have to do is click the contact thing and type away.

I wrote this Mint and they responded:
I think we have something planned for late 2005.

Cool! We'll have to keep an eye out for these guys, see what turns up. Thanks for the update, Mike.

On a related note, here's another E-bay purchase I just made. Got this little diecast for $2. :D
