I think it's going to be pretty tight lengthwise. Add in it's 300lbs heavier than a 6bt. Then there's the whole SAE trans mount, what critter are you going to put behind it?

I went with a Cummins and it's a pretty tight fit. I had to raise the cab 1.5" for transmission clearance and really cram the radiator and intercooler into the radiator support so everything would fit half way decent. However, since it's such a popular engine there is a ton of support out there. I'm not too sure about parts or help for the big Cat.

IT is possible to do. You will certainly need to open up about half of the floorboard and firewall. The engine will sit 5-6" in to the firewall. Weight is a big issue, and Moog has some progressive rate springs, but those are the only ones I've found. Other option being custom front air bags. Your gearing will depend on tire size and what trans you use. Also, the 3126 is all electronic, which is good and bad. You can get some custom tuning, and marine injectors to make it an insane monster....if you want. The 3126 normally isn't a powerhouse, unless you get one from a fire truck or RV(highest hp ratings of 300-330hp).
A big diesel is a huge re-engineering project, and not just a swap. I'm about to get started on my swap pretty soon, and I've had the engine in my garage for 3 years.
