Hey everyone, haven't posted in a while, but have recently come upon an issue.
Im changing out the 360 FE engine in my 71 f100 for a 302
I took the stock engine perches off of my truck (stock 360FE).
I also went to a junkyard an found a 73 f100 with a stock 302 and pulled the perches off for my truck.
Now the issue I am having is that when I took the perches off of my truck, I compared them to the ones I got from the 73 from the junkyard, and they are exactly the same, bolt holes and everything line up in the same spots.
I know the perches on both my truck and the 73 in the junkyard were original because the bolts had never been taken out.
So my question is are these the correct perches or did something change for the change over to the 73-79 body style? Will they work for my 302?
Im basically stuck with 2 sets of the same style perches.
Thanks everyone

Re: Engine Perch question
Do they look like this? The black one's are small block perches, the dirty one's are FE perches.
Here's the small block one's in the frame. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Engine Perch question
Yea they are definitely FE perches that I have. The only thing I can think of why the 73 truck had FE perches was that it must have had an FE originally and someone took it out and put in a 302 and left the FE perches in. Thanks for the pictures. Very helpful, so now I know what to look for at the next junkyard run.

Re: Engine Perch question
Good morning, I am new to this great site and appreciate all the great info I have found thus far. I am not very mechanically savy, so I feel kind of silly asking this question, but here goes. when you are talking about the engines and perches, what do you mean by FE? Also, it appears that I need to change out my perches as well to accommodate a small block. When I go to the wrecking yard can I look at any ford pickup from 67 to 72 for my 1970 f100 body?

Re: Engine Perch question
If you need small block perches, you want the one's on the outside, painted black, in the photo I posted above. They are taller and wider than the FE series engines.

Re: Engine Perch question
They also look more angled or square on the mounting surface.
I went from a 360 to a 5.0 from a 94-96 Bronco/Mustang it was an easy swap.
