1967 F100 Itemized Rebuild
I've done quite a few rebuilds in my life and for one reason or another I never seem to keep track of all the expenses. So for my own sake and for those that are curious as to what it takes to get a bump that's sat for the last 15 years in a field running and driving again.
Purchased $400
DMV Transfer & Nonop $50
Driver Window $15
Regulator $15
Seat $25
Carb Rebuild Kit $17
Tank Solution $15
Fuel Pump Filter $5
In Line Filter $4
Rear Brake Shoes $24
Rear Brake Drum Turned $16
Rear Brake Drum New $31
Fuel Pump Bowl,Washer Bag,
Battery Hold Down Clamp & Bolts,
Fuel Gauge Sending Unit, Turn
Signal Switch $142
Shift Collar, Gas Cap, Front Wheel
Bearings and Seals, Axle Snubber $88
Air Cleaner Assembly $45
Total To Date: $856
Plexiglass Rear Window
Beat Down Steering
Ready For Paint Before Installation
The Dash Lights Were Dim So I Pulled The Old Tape And Installed New Clear Tape
Radio Wouldn't Turn On
Soldered In A Jumper Wire And It Works Fine Now

I love that you fixed the OG radio instead of just chucking it and getting a new one.

Thanks Motzingg on the radio. I didn't want to toss it as the face is in good condition and trying to find another '67 might be tough.
Sargentrs it isn't running yet, I'm guessing another $700-$1k including bodywork and paint.

I don't even want to begin a list of what I have into the crew cab to date.. haha...
Lets just say that I have all the receipts and I have a general idea of what I have spent, but I really don't want to see a finalized list or I might just do something which could endanger my health!

Re: 1967 F100 Itemized Rebuild
The headlight shrouds were really dented. I did as much hammer and dolly work as could and then skimmed some glaze to fill the final imperfections. The steering wheel had the usual cracks in the usual places.
Shot the shrouds with white epoxy and the wheel with black epoxy.
I'll spray the shrouds with aluminum color two part paint.
I'll shoot some single stage black on this.

Re: 1967 F100 Itemized Rebuild
I struck out on finding an OE rear drum in usuable condition so I went aftermarket. They are actually better than I expected. I always inspect these parts, put calipers and mics on them and weigh them just for my own information. Measured out well and weighed in at 3lbs more than OE. I would guess Ford had better casting equipment to produce a tighter piece. Which would be confirmed by the huuuuuge balancing weight on the aftermarket part and no weight on the Ford part. Anybody find a weight on their stock drums.
With all that blueing on the weight they either cut that with a torch or a really dull blade.

Re: 1967 F100 Itemized Rebuild
Thanks.
I got the switch from NPD.
I looked at the OE drum a little closer and I can see that Ford did put a weight on it. Not much of a weight and it's stamped FOMOCO.

Re: 1967 F100 Itemized Rebuild
Thanks for the props.
I would rather have clean aluminum bezels, but this is what was on the truck.
This build is about repair and rebuild what's there(if possible) and get it on the road.

Re: 1967 F100 Itemized Rebuild
Spent quite a few hours getting all the electrical working. Lots of good info on this forum when I got stuck. When I got it only one headlight and the winshield wipers worked nothing else. Nice to have everything that worked when it rolled off the assembly line functioning again.
Once I get the dash back in I'll post a few pics of the interior which is looking much better now.
Love this base model dash shroud.

Re: 1967 F100 Itemized Rebuild
Finally found the correct year air cleaner assembly.
$45 shipped. I'll add that to the total in my first post.
Yup it buffed right out.
