new battery tray, frame horns and bumper.

Post by marz68 »

Been doing some changes to my truck of things I didn't like the first time around.
First thing is the piece of frame from the rack and pinion forward, it's just to damn low!! I sometimes worry it will hit really hard but so far it has only scrapped. I will cut them off and weld in new ones that sit higher.

Next is the battery location. I currently have it sitting in the back under the bed. When the truck warms up it sometimes struggles to start. I don't know if it's a bad battery or the timing is off or not enough current with such a long battery cable.
The new location will be right in front of the rack and pinion.

Last things is to finally get this front bumper installed. It's been more that 10 years with out a front bumper. Can't wait to install it.

I still have the frame. It will sell someday I hope.
I drop in once in a while just to see what's new.

Thanks guys! I'm building battery trays that will bolt right in on our trucks if any body is interested.
I will make it more official later when I finish the first one and test fit it. This will be perfect to replace old rusty falling apart trays.

Cool deal Marz... I will have to take a look at mine and see if I need a new one. If memory serves me right, I think my battery tray is in good condition. But if not, I will definitely get one from you. And you wont even have to ship it!! :)
