voltmeter swap for ammeter?

Post by Aesop »

Is there a direct voltmeter swap to get rid of the ammeter? I have never had a F250 with a working power gauge.

The guage actualy should barely move when registering power while running.

The one test i know how to administor is to turn the lkights on with the key in the accessory position. If it realy goes to the D side of the guage it is a working guage. If no register it or the sending unit(forget actualy name)or thye wire is bad. Replace parts as needed.

If it goes the C side while not running it is wired backwards.

There isn't a voltmeter that is a direct exchange for the factory ammeter. If you want to install a voltmeter (a wise decision) you'll have to go with an aftermarket underdash gauge.
