Hello! I am James Moore, 28, and live in Tulsa, OklaHOMA CURRENTLY... I Have a 72 f100 and I have learned tons from the identifying 67-72 ford trucks section
QUestion: first of all , how come every time I try and upload my truck pics to this site it tells me they are too big of files??? What can I doo about that?? I am in no wise a computer genius(obviously) but I would like to set up "my project" on this site..... ALSO, IF ANYONE HAS A RED UNCRAcked ORIGINAL 71-73 FORD TRUCK STEERING WHEEL, I WILL BUY IT!!!!!!!! thnks
The way to fix the posting pictures thing is something like this...
Make a copy of the picture you want to upload. This way you won't reduce the image quality (file size) of your original in case you ever want to make prints. Take that copy named "copy of blah blah blah" and open it. If you have microsoft photo editor it's easy and I can explain. If you have something else you'll have to ask somebody else or just dig around. But anyway when you open this copy of your picture on the top bar you'll be able to select "file" and when the tab pulls down their will be the word properties. Pick that and it'll show you how big your file is. Make a mental note of what it says there or right it down. Then on the top bar there might be "image." Hit image and the tab will drop and pick "resize." At resize you'll need to either do some math or guess. Easiest I can tell you is try reducing to 80% and see if it'll upload. If not reduce another 80% etc. until it will load.
What you're doing is reducing the file size and that also is reducing the resolution or number of pixels... clarity when enlarged. With the new fancy cameras you can take shots at the lowest setting and still get really clear pictures. If you took the pics at the highest resolution setting they'll be clear as a bell zoomed in but the file size gets huge. I still take most of my pictures at the highest setting then reduce the ones I need to. Exception being if I know most of the pictures are going on the internet like eBay etc. I'll just take the shots at the lower setting so i don't have to reduce a bunch of them. They're still clear as all get out anyway.
Welcome from asheville nc. Don't know what comp system you are using but i have the windows vista and learn how to size pics in the paint app. If you are using vista, feel free to ask any questions
from Georgia! Photoshop here. I can tell you how with that if you use it too. You could always open a Photobucket account and link to 'em. Looking forward to seeing your truck!
