Hey all!
Not quite an owner yet, but a coworker's '72 F100 caught my eye today, and I fear the inevitable is about to happen...
I look forward to learning all there is to know about this truck that was born the same year as me!!!! Holy cow I must be getting old
The obligatory picture: (like they say, "pictures, or it didn't happen", right?)
Wow! That's a clean looking truck. I say get it now before somebody else snaps it up And from Georgia!

Thanks! I think it is a good find, too. I've always wanted an old truck. I learned to drive on my dad's '80 F-100 custom flareside. Since then, I've envied many other trucks, but military career and lots of moving, marriage, kid #1, kid #2, etc., kept me from seriously entertaining the prospect. Now I think I'm ready to bite the bullet!
A little more about this piece, so hopefully some will comment on it's potential value (not in dollars and cents, but in desireability). ...
It has been owned by the same family since new. My coworker bought it from his dad in '01, who bought it new in '72. He put a lot of work into it up until '05: rust repaired, new fenders and inner splash shields, new windshield (missing orig. trim), door window gaskets replaced, new carb, removed headliner and floor matting and interior repainted. The truck has 129k miles, and the engine was rebuilt at 80k, so there's probably around 50k on the engine.
I guess it's in a place where it would be advantageous to take over, but not have to worry about bunches of little broken things, because most of the interior is in good shape. I've also discoverd dennis-carpenter.com, wnd wouldn't you know there are still lots of parts and pieces available either nos or repro!!!
May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.
