Approximately 12-1/2 quarts to fill the trans and torque converter.

This includes enough type F trans fluid to fill the trans, torque convertor, cooler lines and trans cooler in the bottom of your radiator.

...and even more type F fluid if you're running an auxiliary transmission cooler, which I highly recommend. I plumb mine so that the fluid circulates into the cooler in the radiator first, than into the auxiliary cooler, than back to the trans. In my case, the system requires 14 quarts total.

You'll also need about another quart if you're running a deep sump trans pan, which I'm not yet, but I'm planning on that addition in the future.

Yes, but keep in mind that volume of type F fluid includes my very large Earl's transmission cooler. 12 to 12-1/2 quarts without my auxiliary trans cooler. More type F fluid = a cooler running transmission and a cooler running transmission = longer transmission life.
