5 speed conversion

Post by randyj68 »

I know this is a premature post, but nothing like research! This isnt something that I can do in the near future but would like to know what parts to look for. I have a 68 f100, long bed, 390 3 on the tree and would like to go to a 5 speed. I know its easy in an old stang but i'm not seeing the adapters, crossmembers and so on, on the net or in magazines. Has anyone done this that has any input? would it be a bad choice with the 390? Just thought i'd ask. Thanks!

Hey Randy,
"High Impack transmition and gear" has a complete conversion kit for my F-250 4x2 NP-435 to a NV-4500 5 speed overdrive with an adapter behind my 428 which should be the same bell housing as your 390.
