Re: locker for a dana 60
As long as it hasn't been monkeyed with, it should be a 16 spline inner axle.
It's not to difficult to unbolt one of your axles, pull it and count the splines just to be sure.
Hope that helps.

Yes as long as you're not trying to pull wheelies, popping your clutch, doing burn-outs and general mayhem, your Dana 60 is reasonably strong enough to stay together. To upgrade is doable, it'll just cost you to upgrade to 35 spline axles.
When running a Detroit Locker, you better get used to the grabbing, chirping, clunking, loud noise and erratic "feel" of it. At times, you'll think you've "blown" the third member...the nature of the beast. But "work", they do.

Re: locker for a dana 60
35 spline axles don't fit into most dana 60 housings as the spindles ID is too small. There's plenty of meat there to bore the spindles for the larger axles, but you'll have to get creative there. Boring them can be done with the axle in the vehicle.

Didn't know anyone made a tool. That's neat. A forklift and a magdrill do a fine job also.

Re: locker for a dana 60
I replaced my 16 spline axles with 30 spline axles, so I could run an Eaton Elocker (AWESOME !!) The 30 spline is 25% stonger steel than the 16 spline plus it is has a larger diameter that gives it even more strength than stock and still fits the stock spindles. I did not want to inlarge the ID of the spindles.(AWESOME !!)
No noises with this locker, did I mention AWESOME !!

Re: locker for a dana 60
I plan on it lasting a long time. There is not a lot of parts to it and it is total open when not locked up. I think you would have to turn it on and off many times a day to wear on it. Limiteds are wearing ever time you turn a corner and look at how long they last. Other lockers that are banging and clunking every turn, is not for me.

Re: locker for a dana 60
i see auburn gear makes a limited slip to full E locker so you dont lose the LS usage for normal driving but can lock it in full like the E locker for other purposes. too bad they dont make one for a D60
