Fired up in Indiana!

Post by Voodoo67 »

And have been for 20 years!!.....Hello I'm Steve and I bought my truck in 1990 from the original owner....kinda... new it belonged to a fire dept where they set it up as a grass rig, heavy springs, big ol stainless water tank..etc... well it ended up in the hands of the fire chief who used it on the farm till the kingpins went bad and they left it in a field for 16 years..... then I got a hold of it....well,I've had it now 21 years and there's way too much done to it to explain here, but I'll just bet there isn't another one like it anywhere.......but it's not just a truck , it's become part of the family... the roads this thing has brought me down....it took my wife and I to our wedding and led my son's funeral procession throwing fire the whole 15 mile trip, life wouldn't be the same without this old truck in it and I wouldn't be either, anyway happy to be here and wish you all safe travels.......Steve Hartley, Proud Gold Star Father of Spc.Dustin R. :wel: Love the story about your Bump!

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your son though. Thank You for raising a fine young man that served his country honorably but paid the highest price.

We are all safer because of his service and to all the others that have done so as well.

God Bless You, Your Family, Your Son and the USA.

It's an honor to have you here sir.

Welcome from Georgia! Thank you and your whole family for your son's service and sacrifice. He and his comrades in arms are the reason we can do what we do here and I greatly appreciate it!

I love the history and connection that you and your family have with that truck. Funny how that happens sometimes. Very sorry to hear about the loss of your son. Both my wife and I come from a military families and we have the utmost respect for those that serve and sacrifice. I have encouraged my son to perhaps look at serving when he's old enough.

Lookin forward to your pics of the truck! Welcome from Colorado. :wel:

:wel: from Montana! I should feel good that my truck was only parked for 12 years! A rod bearing went out in 1992 and I didn't overhaul it until 2004. My wife and I dated in it before we were married in 1984 and it has also been a part of the family. While it was parked I had several offers to buy it or parts from it but I was always determined to get it running again.

I'm very sorry about your son and very thankful for his service.

Welcome from Northern Ca. Sorry you lost Dustin. Military members and their familys face situations that others can have a hard time understanding. God bless our military and the family members that support their service. John CPO USN Ret.
