205 swap speedo cable question

Post by Drednme »

I finally found a good divorced 205 to replace my bad dana 24. The only problem I have now is the obvious difference between the screw in end on my truck and the clip in end on the case, the guy had just cut off the last 6 inches of cable, but the plastic gear was stripped anyway, so really the question is where can I find a new cable and gear. For info sake the case came out of a 73 with unknown gears and is going in a 68 250 with 4.10's. Thanks for your help!

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Averagef250 told me to just pull the ends off both speedo cable and push th one you want to use back on. I did it years ago and it worked fine. As for the gear I think any of the mail order places should have them or even your local parts house.
