manual kick down
Can anyone tell me, on a 390 C6 Combo, should there be a manual kick down lever from the carb to the tranny along with the vacuum modulator? Seems to me that there should be, but on this truck there isn't one. If there is supposed to be one of these levers, where can you buy one? I've checked all my catalogs like LMC and they don't even acknowledge it.

Yes, there is supposed to be a kickdown rod. I think fordman has a couple.

I think he is talking about the kick down rod itself that goes to trans.

Yes there is supposed to be a kick-down-rod. It goes from the carb down to the tranny between the firewall and the top of the motor/tranny. It's got some odd bends to get around stuff. You'll need to find a used rod. Make sure it's for a 360/390. The C6 is the only auto Ford mated to the 360/390.

This is great information, thank you all for your answers! Does anyone have a rod they would like to sell? While bumps and slicks are abundant around here, they are usually found in someone who wont let go of them's back yard. They seem to be in short supply in the wrecking yards here.
