Did trucks with 302's automatics come with c-4's or c-6's? Thank's!!

C4's. Although there is a "baby" C6 with the smaller bell housing pattern, it was not offered in bumpsides.

Didn't they come with the 351c?

Don't quote me but I believe the 351C bolt pattern is different than the SBF 302/351W pattern.
Mine came from an 80's E-Series van.

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!

Thanks, it was what I could afford for now. Real happy with the C-6, (except at highway speeds). I've had many C-4's and just didn't want another, (especially in a one ton). And the C-6 being plentiful helped make my decision. :thup:

Not trying to steel the thread...but along the same lines. I will have a mildly built 302 (cam, heads, 4bbl)...will a c4 still be well suited for this motor?

the c4 is a popular trans for the 302.

I thought most 302's were backed up with a FMX.

A C4 will be fine for your application.
