Need pictures of z bar please
I have a PO installed zbar setup that is at a funny angle and just doesnt look correct. Can anyone post a picture of how the zbar setup is on a 302 or 315w 2wd? Does it use a bracket on the bellhousing or is it a stud in the block? Thank for any help.

well you can but it raises the front of the engine and makes it tilt towards the back throwing off the driveshaft angle and could wear the front ujoint faster than normal. it could also make your z bar sit like that.

335 (351M/400) use an engine bracket similar to FE engines. Inline-6 engines always used the stud as did the early 289 engines. Later windsors used a bracket.fordman wrote:the 335 series engines use a ball stud coming out of the block. sorry i dont have any pictures of a z bar installed with that engine

335 series is the Ford name for the 302 351w and 351c. i dont know if 351m 400 is included as a 385 series or a 335 series engine. the 385 series engines are 429 and 460.

335 series are 302 Boss/351C/351M/400. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_335_engine
The Windsors have always been Small Blocks or Windsors. Although very early Ford internal literature referred to the 260 small block as the "Fairlane"

Now that that is out of the way should I be checking for a set of 302 perches?

If this is correct then the small block perches are lower than the i6 and that would put me in worse shape. My engine is to low already. I didn't see anything about moving the location of the engine forward or backward.

the small block perches go in the front set of holes. the fe perches go in the rear set of holes. if you had a 6 cyl those fe perches would go in the frotn set of holes. can you get a picture of your z bar and how it is in there?

I could but it's all apart at the moment. I will try to put it back and get a picture or two. So the perches shoulf be to the front side of the cross member?fordman wrote:the small block perches go in the front set of holes. the fe perches go in the rear set of holes. if you had a 6 cyl those fe perches would go in the frotn set of holes. can you get a picture of your z bar and how it is in there?
